Who is making the soaps?

I am Nadia and I started making soaps in 2017. I was doing some research about herbal oils for skincare. While researching, I realized that all the everyday skincare products I had at home could be harmful to my health. That’s how I began to look into making my own soaps for my family. My friends loved the soaps and encouraged me to share them with more people. That’s why I made this website. Besides making soaps, I am a photographer and my studio is located in Saint-Henri, Montreal. Feel free to check out my websites: nadiazheng.com and opustill.com

What makes my soaps all natural?

In my soaps, I use all natural ingredients. They are free of synthetic dyes SLS, parabens, phthalates, and preservatives. For most of the soaps, I use essential oil for the scent. Where fragrance oils are used, they are always paraben and phthalate free. All soaps are made cold processed. The cold process method is ideal to preserve the benefits of plant-derived butters and oils. The glycerin which is created naturally during saponification is preserved in cold process soap, while it’s removed in commercial soap and sold as a by-product. Glycerin is a precious emollient that softens and maintains water balance by attracting moisture to your skin. The very best reason to use handmade soap is the ingredients. Our handmade soap is made of vegetable oils and butters that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients that are essential to healthy skin. Here are a few ingredients that you can find in our soaps: shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, cocoa butter, hempseed oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil and neem oil.

Are the same soaps always available?

All the soaps are made in small batches. Soaps from the same batch share the same scent and similar colours and patterns. However, each new soap batch has its unique features and variations. Because of this small batch process, each soap bar is completely unique.

Best way to store the soaps?

All soaps available in the shop have been through a 4-week curing time. Store your soaps in a cool dry place away from sunlight if not in active use. For best results, put a piece of plastic wrap over uncovered bars and seal with tape. For long-term storage, organic bar soaps can be sealed in a jar or bottle.

Can I have my soap customized?

Yes! Let me know if you have any preference of color and scent. Natural Handmade Soaps can be a perfect favor for Wedding, Bridal Shower, Bridesmaid or Baby Shower. Feel free to message and we will see what we can do! Please order at least 8 weeks in advance for the soaps to cure.
